A Framework for IP Based Virtual Private Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
This document describes a framework for virtual private networks (VPN) running across IP backbones. It discusses the various different types of VPNs, their respective requirements, and proposes specific mechanisms that could be used to implement each type of VPN using existing or proposed specifications. The objective of this document is to serve as a framework for related protocol development Gleeson et al. Towards an Architecture of High Availability over IP
The work presented in this paper describes the framework of the GESTICA project (Telecommunication Services Management Implemented on CorbA). This framework is a proposal to integrate a session-based Service Management Layer on CORBA for the efficient management of QoS of Virtual Private Networks over IP. It is at the same time an attempt to show how a TMN-inherited layered management architect...
متن کاملBuilding ALL-IP Based Virtual Private Networks in Mobile Environment
Security mechanisms such as firewalls commonly deployed throughout the Internet present serious obstacles to basic usage of Mobile IP. In this paper we describe how IP security mechanisms can be integrated with Mobile IP to create a mobile VPN. In this context, this work describes a prototype implementation of an integrated environment for secure, inter-domain, mobile communications for an exis...
متن کاملRFC 6624 BGP Auto - Discovery and Signaling for L 2 VPN
Layer 2 Virtual Private Networks (L2VPNs) based on Frame Relay or ATM circuits have been around a long time; more recently, Ethernet VPNs, including Virtual Private LAN Service, have become popular. Traditional L2VPNs often required a separate Service Provider infrastructure for each type and yet another for the Internet and IP VPNs. In addition, L2VPN provisioning was cumbersome. This document...
متن کاملThe multi-layer RSIP framework
Network Address Translation (NAT) and Realm Specific IP (RSIP) were proposed to extend the lifetime of IPv4 architecture. However; NAT and RSIP do not have the ability to communicate with multi-layer private networks. This paper proposes an enhanced framework of multi-layer RealmSpecific IP (MRSIP) that not only inherences all the benejit of RSIP but also provides both end-to-end transparentacc...
متن کاملManagement Bandwidth Service on MPLS domain
This paper describes an efficient way to implement managed bandwidth services. The proposed solution is based on MPLS technology and especially with the creation of virtual private networks. The virtual private networks will be layer 3 VPNs (IP VPNs) and are described all the mechanisms and the MPLS features that are necessary for the MBS service implementation. The paper also describes how the...
